From Fiction To Fashion: 'Barbie' World Press Tour

Margot Robbie just updated the Zendaya's Red Carpet game while promoting her new movie 'Barbie' around the world!

It's finally here guys! The highly-anticipated film finally hits screens today and before I write my review, let's recap this EPIC press tour that was the Barbie's thanks to Margot Robbie's commitment to the movie and character + the amazing job of her new stylist Andrew Mukamal, who pulled out all the stops, referencing specific Barbie dolls outfits from years gone by, and delighting fans (myself included) in the process. From vintage Chanel and Versace to custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture and Vivienne Westwood... All the stunning looks and the retro references (following a Red Carpet trend we've talked  about before) are here for you:

For the European 'Barbie' premiere held in London, Margot Robbie chose to wear a Vivienne Westwood Couture gown, modeled inspired by the "Enchanted Evening" Mattel doll from 1990.

Back in 2007 Vivienne Westwood banned fur from all her lines, for the look Andreas Kronthaler replaced the fur stole with a ruffled neckline for the romantic vision.

For an after-party, the actress wore a red mini-dress designed by Turkish-British fashion designer Dilara Findikoglu.

The look was inspired by the 1962 "Brunette Bubble Cut" Barbie doll and it was accessorized with Assael jewels and a Maison Ernest satin bag.
At a photocall in London, Robbie wore a skirt suit also by Vivienne Westwood, with a coordinating pair of its iconic platform heels and square bag, plus Tiffany & Co. jewelry

For the Los Angeles premiere, Margot Robbie wore a black shimmering custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown inspired by the doll's 'Solo In The Spotlight' look from 1960.

In Mexico City, the actress wore her hair in impressive long waves, with an Emilio Pucci printed dress, pink Manolo Blahnik heels, a Chanel bag and Taffin jewelry, The look was inspired by the 'Totally Hair' Barbie doll from 1992.

By the way, did you know the Totally Hair Barbie released in 1992 is the best-selling Barbie doll, sold more than 10 million dolls worldwide? Amazing.. and a childhood consume dream of yours truly 😍

At the film's premiere in Naucalpan de Juárez in Mexico, she went full-on '90s in a neon pink corseted Balmain mini dress with silver statement earrings and a matching chain belt

The look was nearly identical to the the 1992 'Earring Magic' Barbie doll

Margot Robbie kept up her vintage style streak, wearing a Moschino skirt suit from the brand's spring/summer 2015 collection to the film's press conference in Seoul.

The look recreated the 1964 'Sparkling Pink' Barbie moment and we love it!

Speaking of a Barbie moment... To the Seoul premiere, our eternal Harley Quinn wore a Versace suit based on a 1985 Barbie doll called 'Day to Night'.

The original doll was sold in a two-piece suit, but her jacket could be removed and her skirt reversed so she was in a party dress.

The shoes was also created for the premiere: Manolo Blahnik gave a Barbie makeover to the brand's beloved Irene pumps: a pointed court shoe, in white with a hot pink toe cap and a hot pink heel.

For her first look, Margot Robbie carried several matching accessories, including a rhinestone covered phone, a white hat with a pink band and a small pink Versace purse. For the next outfit, she wore a Versace glittering pink dress made of a crystal-covered bodice and a fluffy tiered skirt.

Meanwhile in Sydney, Margot channeled both '90s supermodels and Barbie in a cropped sweater and metallic pleated skirt from Versace's 1994 Fall/Winter collection.

It's a 'Barbie Celebration Party': with director Greta Gerwig and costars Issa Rae and America Ferrera at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, Australia.

Robbie wore a sparkling metallic strapless minidress from Atelier Versace's 1994 Fall/Winter collection and clear Manolo Blahnik pumps.

The Versace mini dress was inspired by Claudia Schiffer's look from 1994

Landing in Korea, the actress wore a two-piece Moschino skirt set with matching heart-shaped sunglasses for the ultimate Barbie look.

In Australia, Robbie channeled the outfit worn by the first Barbie doll in an Hervé Léger bodycon mini dress and Manolo Blahnik peep toe pumps.

The stripes and silhouette of the dress wore inspired by the black-and-white one-piece swimsuit worn by the very first and 'original' Barbie, released in 1959.

Airport look, but make it Barbie: Margot is wearing a vintage Chanel jacket from the fashion house's Spring/Summer '96 collection while toting matching SteamLine luggage

At a photo call in Hollywood, the 'Barbie' star wore a halter Valentino minidress and white Manolo Blahnik heels inspired by the 2015 'Pink & Fabulous' Barbie doll.

The "Barbie" global press tour kicked off in Los Angeles, where Margot Robbie began to incorporate the real-life Barbie doll in Bottega Veneta.

That's all Barbies (and Kens)! See you in theaters!
