Theriz Journal is a curated world where fashion, film, and feeling converge. Here, elegance is a lens, style is a narrative, and each post is a cinematic moment. I believe in luxury that whispers, wardrobes that tell stories, and rituals that make the everyday extraordinary. This is more than a journal—it’s a mood, a mindset, a movement.
I didn’t plan to become a blogger. I just never learned how to stop being curious.
I’m a Brazilian creative, journalist, former architect and the founder and editor of Theriz Journal — an independent fashion, beauty, travel, art and lifestyle publication that has been part of my life since 2009.
Yes, 2009.
Which means I have been blogging for so long that I remember when blogging was considered a questionable use of the internet.
And somehow, I’m still here.
Now I live in Porto, Portugal, where I write, create, photograph, travel, shop, investigate beautiful places, test beauty products, obsess over clothes, visit exhibitions, eat pancakes when research requires it (obviously), and occasionally wonder how I ended up with approximately 47 tabs open in my browser.
But let me back up.
Before Theriz Journal
My first career was architecture.
I studied it, worked with it, and genuinely loved the creative side of it. Architecture taught me something I still use every day: how to see.
Proportion. Composition. Materials. Details. The way something feels before you can explain why.
Eventually, though, I realized that the things I really wanted to write about weren't buildings.
They were people.
Clothes.
Images.
Culture.
Beauty.
The stories behind the things we buy, wear, visit and remember.
So I moved toward journalism.
I completed a postgraduate degree in Journalism, spent two years interning at Em Voga in Brazil, and later moved to New York, where I worked as an assistant at Resident Magazine.
I also began writing about fashion, beauty and culture for publications including Resident Magazine, BODE, WOTC and Style Conversations.
And somewhere along the way, fashion weeks became part of the story too.
I’ve attended shows at NYFW and SPFW, followed collections from the front row and behind the scenes, and learned that fashion looks considerably less glamorous when you’re trying to survive an entire day carrying a camera, notebook, phone, press credentials and approximately zero practical snacks.
Then came the blog.
Theriz Journal started as a place for me to put all the things I couldn't stop thinking about.
It grew into something much bigger.
Today, I think of it less as a “blog” and more as my personal editorial universe.
It’s where fashion meets real life.
Where a trend becomes a styling idea.
Where a beautiful hotel becomes a travel guide.
Where a restaurant recommendation answers the very important question, “But what should I actually order?”
Where beauty isn't about chasing perfection, but discovering what is worth your time, attention and shelf space.
Where a shopping guide isn't simply a list of products — because frankly, the internet already has enough lists.
I want to know:
Is it actually worth it?
How would I wear it?
Would I pack it for Paris?
Would I buy it again?
Does it solve a problem?
And, perhaps most importantly, would I still want it when the algorithm has moved on?
That is the kind of content I want to create.
The things I can't stop talking about
My world is deliberately difficult to put into one category.
There is fashion, obviously.
But also beauty, fragrance, travel, art, interiors, food, culture, shopping, movies, cities, hotels, restaurants, red carpets, books, history and the occasional extremely specific obsession.
One day I might be writing about the perfect all-white outfit.
The next, I'm in Paris.
Then I'm investigating a skincare ritual.
Then I'm telling you where to have brunch in Guimarães.
Then I'm building a fall tablescape.
Then somehow we're discussing why I have a suspiciously strong attachment to fictional anti-heroes like Tommy Shelby, Daryl Dixon and The Punisher.
It makes sense in my head.
Usually.
And I think that's the point.
Theriz Journal isn't about fitting neatly into one box. It's about following curiosity wherever it goes.
Why I still write
Because I don't believe we need more content.
We need better reasons to care about it.
I want you to leave a Theriz Journal story knowing something you didn't know before.
Or wanting to visit somewhere.
Or finally understanding how to wear that piece sitting in your wardrobe.
Or discovering a brand you wouldn't have found otherwise.
Or saving a shopping guide because you know you'll come back to it three weeks later.
Or sending an article to a friend with the message:
“This is SO you.”
That is the reaction I’m after.
Not just clicks.
CONNECTION.
And yes, I still love shopping.
I should probably confess this early.
I love beautiful things.
I love fashion.
I love discovering brands.
I love the thrill of finding the one piece that makes an entire wardrobe make sense.
But after years of writing about fashion and beauty, I have become much more interested in what deserves a place in your life than simply what is new.
That is why my shopping edits are curated rather than endless.
Why I talk about products I genuinely find interesting.
Why I look for the details behind a purchase.
And why I created Theriz Journal's shopping guides as something readers can actually use when they're ready to make a decision.
After all, nobody needs another 73-item “must-have” list.
We need someone to say:
Start here.
Life between Brazil, Portugal, New York and everywhere in between
I was born and raised in Brazil, lived in New York, and now call Porto home.
That combination probably explains a lot about this journal.
I carry Brazilian warmth with me.
New York gave me a certain impatience with waiting around.
Porto taught me to appreciate slower mornings, beautiful streets and the fact that apparently everything tastes better when you're sitting outside.
And Paris?
Paris keeps reminding me that I can apparently visit the same city six times and still find something I haven't seen before.
Travel, for me, isn't simply about ticking places off a list.
It is about noticing.
A café.
A street corner.
A hotel lobby.
A museum.
A dress someone is wearing.
The best thing on a menu.
The perfume someone walks past wearing.
Those tiny details that somehow become the things you remember.
What you can expect here
Think of Theriz Journal as the friend who researches everything before you make a decision.
- The one who sends you the hotel.
- The restaurant.
- The lipstick.
- The dress.
- The exhibition.
- The Paris itinerary.
- The beauty product.
- The table setting.
And occasionally, a completely unnecessary but fascinating explanation of why a fictional character is actually the most interesting person on television.
I write about fashion, beauty, travel, art, culture, lifestyle and the beautiful details that make ordinary life feel a little less ordinary.
Some stories are practical.
Some are aspirational.
Some are deeply personal.
And some exist because I saw something and immediately thought:
“Wait. We need to talk about this.”
Now, I want you here.
You can follow along on Instagram.
You can read the latest story and disappear into the archives for an hour.
But if you really want to be part of Theriz Journal, join my newsletter.
It’s where I bring the best of the Journal directly to your inbox — the stories worth reading, the places worth knowing, the beauty discoveries, fashion edits, travel inspiration, shopping finds and the things I think you shouldn't miss.
No algorithm deciding whether you get to see it.
No need to remember to check back.
Just Theriz Journal, delivered to you.
And considering how much time I spend researching all of this... You might as well let me do the scrolling for you.
Welcome to my world.
I'm very glad you're here.
