Creating Art & Sharing Love Since 2009

The First Monday in May

Nova Iorque, NY, EUA
Oh what a night! This First Monday in May was a very special one as the 2023 MET Gala had as theme: ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’ to honor Karl Lagerfeld, one of my favorite fashion designers, a creative genius and of course, a regular attendee at The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute. Karl was such an interesting and beloved figure, he certainly deserved an exhibition to celebrate his life and body of work.

Karl was is POP and the homages he received last night proved us that. His iconic Black & White look was translated in so many stunning gowns and suits, plus some stars, muses and friends with the late designer (photographer, film director, etc) got the chance to wear some of the most beautiful vintage pieces created by Karl for the Maison he helped rebuild and transform into the desired brand it is today: Chanel. Oh, again... what a night! I can't wait to go visit the new exhibit at the MET, I'm sure it will be as exciting as one of the famous Karl Lagerfeld's fashion shows at the Grand Palais in Paris. (Opening to the public this Friday, May 5th)

Here is our petit selection of the MET Gala 2023 favorite moments, I hope you like it. (The complete coverage and ALL the red carpet looks are on our FB page - see you there!)

You know I'm a fan of Chanel film campaigns so it's no surprise this was my top favorite look of the night.
Nicole Kidman wore the same gown from the dazzling 2004 Chanel N5 campaign directed by Baz Lurhmann she starred with Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro

Gisele Bündchen wore a bridal look from CHANEL by KARL LAGERFELD’s spring 2007 couture show. While the look was originally worn on the runway by Freja Beha Erichsen, Bündchen wore it for a Harper's Bazaar fashion editorial that same year.

Also an emotional moment, Karl's muse and Chanel ambassador (since 2013), Kristen Stewart wearing a look from the Resort 2017 collection - you know, that one which Lagerfeld took the top of the fashion world to Cuba (the first French one in a Latin America country)

Cara Delevingne in Karl Lagerfeld

Current Chanel N5 muse, French actress Marion Cotillard changed her hair - to pink! - for the night
(and, she's wearing Chanel, sure)

Btw, I’m totally here for the new hair styles and beauty makeovers..

From red head to platinum blonde, Jessica Chastain new look in Gucci

Dua Lipa in a gown from Chanel’s Fall 1992 Couture collection

Actually, revising past collections and wearing an iconic pre-loved fashion piece is on trend now and a lot of celebrities are jumping into it, I wrote about it here, remember?

Our Barbie, Margot Robbie in a Chanel 1993 Spring Summer Couture gown

There he is! Movie director Baz Luhrmann with his wife, Catherine Martin

Speaking about it, men brought their A-game to this year's Met Gala and didn't disappointed.

The sweetest moment: Jared Leto arriving as Karl's cat, Choupette
