Creating Art & Sharing Love Since 2009

The Age of Superheroes (Dress Code)

I've always thought I was the only mortal in the world who had wishes to be a superhero. I believe I've explained you why here, right? Anyway, my obsession with superheroes are partly because of the (super stylish) clothes - including the flying capes. And that's exactly what I need to share with you today... I've been noticing a current choice of the celebrities (and their stylists) on the red carpet: a gown that comes with a cape. The first time I remember spotting the fashion trend was on princess Kate Middleton, she was wearing a Jenny Packham stunning sample at the premiere of the latest James Bond film 'No Time to Die' in London September' last year.

Since that, the cape dress/ gown has been a constant on the red carpets and catwalks too. Come take a look and tell me your thoughts about it. Would you wear it? Will it give you super powers or make you feel invincible? It's a double YES for me :)

Léa Seydoux also at the 'No Time to Die' World Premiere wore a custom Louis Vuitton gown with a keyhole neckline and sparkling cape.

Jennifer Lawrence attended the world premiere for the Netflix movie 'Don't Look Up' at New York City's Lincoln Center on Dec. 5, in light-gold Dior gown that featured a embroidered silk with pleated cape sleeves and was selected from the brand's spring/summer 2022 collection.

Lady Gaga wore a gorgeous purple Gucci gown at the 'House of Gucci' London premiere on Nov. 9

Drew Barrymore at the 2022 Daytime Emmy Awards, wearing a Valentino gown and Iradj Moini jewelry. June 24 this year

On the Venice red carpet, Julianne Moore wore a sequin Valentino dress with matching cape and Cartier jewelry. And speaking of Valentino, there were a lot of this gown style on the Maison's Haute Couture show this season.

Alessandra Ambrosio attended the opening ceremony of the 79th annual Venice Film Festival and the premiere of 'White Noise' in a bright pink gown by Italian fashion house Ermanno Scervino

Greta Gerwig at the 'White Noise' screening during BFI Film Festival

Margot Robbie in a Celine cutout dress with a matching cape at the 'Amsterdam' premiere in London on September 21.
