Sleeping Beauty Essentials

Speaking of sleeping better, on the blog this week we're sharing some special nighttime skincare and beauty secrets that will improve, not just your sleep but also the next day morning - making you wake up feeling and looking better.

By the way, let me ask you something, do you have a nighttime skincare routine? I know, after a long and stressful day all we want is to watch Netflix (or HBO Max, in my case) and fall asleep… right? But spending a few more minutes taking care of yourself before that can give you extra energy and a restored look when you wake up the next morning.

According to a Vogue’s UK specialist: “At night is when our skin and our bodies shifts into repair and restore mode, so making the most of the time you spend asleep is a simple way to encourage healthier, happier skin come morning.” Think about it and take a look below at my top 5 nighttime skin care and wellness secrets to help you keep your skin and hair healthy and vibrant:

VIIcode's O2M OXYGEN EYE MASK FOR ALL NIGHT REPAIR and the T2 OXYGEN EYE CREAM

VII Code eye patches + a glass of water = perfect Duo!

VIIcode is a beauty company that stands out and differentiates from the global skincare industry for being focused solely on oxygen-based eye care. I use and recommend their Eye Cream and Eye Masks.
The skin around our eye contours is extremely thin and fragile and is often the first to show signs of aging - making it my priority to take good care every night.

The T2 Oxygen Eye Cream involves a unique “T2” stone mortar extraction process and revolutionizes conventional skincare. It features an incredible breakthrough self-repair and self-healing energy element that instantly activates the skin’s natural repair system.

The O2M Oxygen Eye Masks are easy-to-apply. The pads were specifically designed to repair the skin around the eye area and each of them contains a potent blend of natural antioxidants that really work hard to rejuvenate my skin, nourishing it with everything it needs to feel refreshed and invigorated when I wake up in the morning. I use it 2-3 times a week and it’s safe to use for eight hours (while sleeping).

A cup of Tea

According to the sleep foundation: “there is scientific evidence to support herbal teas as a holistic way to reduce fatigue and improve sleep quality.” So having a cup of tea can be part of a healthy sleep routine, but look for the herbal teas because they are caffeine-free, also, studies have shown that if you make a habit of it, sipping a cup of tea before bed can actually help train your brain that it's time to prepare for sleep!

Chamomile is an easy to find-classic and my favorite. It works like a mild sedative that acts on the benzodiazepine receptors in the brain, similar to how some medications, like Ambien, help treat insomnia.
It reduces general anxiety and will help you sleep - have one cup of chamomile tea an hour or two before bedtime and come back to tell me later ;)

Plus! Keep hydrated. It’s always good to keep a glass of water on your bedside table too.

Eye of Horus' Seven Seed Sacred Oil

I was introduced to the Eye of Horus world earlier this year and immediately fell in love with its ancient goddess beauty concept, you know - I’m obsessed with Egyptian old myths.

The Seven Seed Sacred Oil is a natural, nutrient-rich face elixir, hand-blended with the seven sacred oils of antiquity for a renewed and rejuvenated complexion. The infusion combines Moringa, Abyssinian, Marula and Nigella with Hemp, Pomegranate and Baobab oil to boost collagen production and fight against fine lines, dark spots, dryness and inflammation. It’s enriched with essential fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants that will nurture the skin back to health.

To enhance absorption and improve results, I use a Crystal Gua Sha tool - designed to improve circulation, relieve tension and encourage lymphatic drainage to help brighten, lift and sculpt the face. Ideal for all skin types, the White Jade has a long history of use in beauty treatments and is believed to possess many healing, restorative and anti-aging benefits.

Silk Pillowcase & Sleep Mask

As I’ve mentioned on our previous list, silk pillowcases can help us reduce allergy symptoms and skin irritation while we sleep.

The Silk Pillowcase does wonders for my hair, helping it retain moisture from products and natural oils and reduces friction that could cause tangles and breakage.

Silk sleep masks are designed to help us sleep better by reducing light intake during the night. It also helps to prevent creases forming around the delicate skin around your eyes and to keep our skin hydrated. This also means that any overnight eye creams or serums used as part of the nightly skincare routine will stay where they belong: on the face.
Use a silk eye mask for sleeping to enjoy a peaceful, undisturbed sleep. They are perfect for everyday use at home or for travel (hello airplane trip essential!).

Nuori's REVITALIZING HAIR BRUSH LARGE

Last but not least, brushing your hair before bed is not just relaxing - helping you drift off to sleep - but can also promote a healthier mane. Why?Simple: our scalp produces natural oils, and brushing the hair distributes them through the strands.
Besides, massaging your scalp for 15 to 20 minutes in the night can ensure your hair and scalp stay healthy, thanks to enhanced blood circulate.

I use the Revitalizing Hair Brush from Nuori, that has mixed bristle, soft cushioned brush that allows you to detangle, style, and care for your hair for a beautiful, healthier-looking result. The round-tipped nylon tufts gently massage and stimulate the scalp and effectively detangle the hair while preventing snagging.

Before, I go... Here's a list with the correct order to apply skincare for nighttime and day too:

Remember, every skin is different so which products you use depends on your own needs and concerns.
