I still remember picking up this issue of NYLON magazine back in 2009 — not just for the glossy pages, but because of this editorial. Sienna Miller on the cover, messy hair, leather jacket, that effortless street-style cool. I was completely hooked.
I’ve kept the magazine ever since — tucked on a shelf, dog-eared and well-loved — because something about that shoot still sticks with me. The way she looked so unbothered, like she just wandered off a film set. The candid energy. The confidence without polish. She was late to the shoot, she got the address wrong, and still showed up with a smile. Honestly? Iconic.

With the Y2K and 2000s revival back in full swing, it’s wild how fresh these looks still feel today.
It was a denim special issue, and Sienna wore it all. The whole shoot had this fun, carefree mood, like they’d just grabbed a camera and wandered downtown. It was light, spontaneous, unfiltered — from a time before we ever imagined pandemics, lockdowns, or everything else that would come later.
