Creating Art & Sharing Love Since 2009

1984

Ohh the 80's ... Good times! When the only concern you had was who were your friends and what would you guys do on Friday night .. Or if that boy or girl was into you .. Who would you take to the prom .. And that interminable and unforgetable summer vacation!

Then came the 90's and all that crazy dudes wanted to know was labor, financial markets, the New York stock exchange and of course... money!

And now the 2000's .. In the beginning was a revival of recent decades and now this mess that no one understands very much .. It's everyone for itself and everybody wants to be famous!!
Ohh .. The 80's ...

I didn't live this time 'cause I was born in 1984, only have seen in the movies and like it... a lot!
And mainly the John Hughes movies .. Romantic Comedies were more sweet and funny and passionate back then! Judd Nelson doesn't let me lie!!

The songs, the accessories and the hair were much more funnier! In fact I even have already written about it here ..

It's just that a couple of days ago I saw a movie with Emma Stone that inspired me to think about it... the life style of the 80's.. the movies... and of course... the chivalry!

Please be my guest in this nostalgic trip to the past and ask yourself too... What the f* happened with the chivalry???

"Whatever happened to chivalry? Does it only exist in 80's movies? I want John Cusack holding a boombox outside my window. I wanna ride off on a lawnmower with Patrick Dempsey. I want Jake from Sixteen Candles waiting outside the church for me. I want Judd Nelson thrusting his fist into the air because he knows he got me. Just once I want my life to be like an 80's movie, preferably one with a really awesome musical number for no apparent reason. But no, no, John Hughes did not direct my life."

Matthew Broderick in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off "(1986), by John Hughes

P.S.: The other 2 movies Emma talks about is "Say anything" (1989), with John Cusack and by Cameron Crowe - one of my favorite directors - and "Can't buy me love" (1987), with Patrick Dempsey and by Steve Rash - I recommend both!!

Ohh... the 80's...
